This is a gift for a little girl to complete, it's a mini accordion album, minimalist on the inside for her to journal and add photos of Christmas celebration; for her own keepsake or for a gift to her loved ones. Hope she likes it!

3notes

Today this took me 1.5hr to decide on the paper and what to do with them. I decided to make cards (note), with some 20grid papers inside to act as jotter or notepads. Just wanted to do something with the Christmas themed papers.

Supplies
  • Pattern papers from My Mind's Eye (Ornament print) and Jillibean soup (Falala print)
  • Stamp from Melissa & Doug (my kid's stash), ink Stayz on onto manila tag
  • Twine from Bakers' Twine &  a few strips of MT washi tapes

MIA

Absolutely under the weather since last week. I have been nursing a cold, cough, bad throat and some dizzy spells. I'll be back real soon once the medicine does the job!

Washi tapes for Stacked presents Christmas cards

Tip Junkie handmade projects
Just stack up washi tapes onto cardstock and cut shapes out of it. I added one pattern paper to tone down the mix match washi boxes. So there you go, unique presents on your card. Simplicity says it all! Have fun!

OK, here it is

This is what Elaine is going to get after I kinda delayed 2months getting this album done. Ugghh.. snail, and distraction of card making! Hope she likes it. There are a lot of blank pages for her and parents to play around with. Open ended journal and pages can be added to it too.  It's is also my first time wrapping with a brown bag with washi tape.

The belated ones...

I'm so LATE, getting old and forgetful ...Late late late.. 1wk and 1.5wks late. Quick done up for a 2yr and 3yr old to add to their pressie (To hunt tomorrow!). Think it's up to the moms if they want to keep the cards. Hahaa... Anyway pray hard I can find something for them

This is entered for challenge over at :

Watermark stamping

365cards d222 Stamping Saturday - obviously late for the challenge, think I missed the deadline. Anyway, I did this tonight with watermark ink on brown cardstock (the brown which I don't quite fancy very much). I thought the effect was great. I took all the snowflakes Prima X'mas stamp bunch and just put them onto the 6x6 acrylic block. And just went stamping crazy. I also double stamped JOY. All patterned paper from Sweet Threads and plain DCWV cardstock.

Black based X'mas card

I made 4 cards tonight, this is my 1st landscape card.. So anyway, it's ok to have a black based X'mas card right? Oh well, doesn't matter when it comes with lots of red isn't? From a combination of 7Gypsies Lille stamp, Odds and ends, Maya mist, and some twine.. I guess it makes the black base card decent enough for X'mas...

I'm entering this card for :

So here we go, more trees!

Past few nights after the kids knocked out, I made 2 cards... simple but still take me 2 hrs to decide what to do .... Tada....
  • First card tag is made of white cardstock stamped with pigment ink wrapped in twine. Love this part :)Patterned paper used is from Basic Grey Sweet Threads, 7Gypsies Mykonos and Cosmo Cricket Odds and Ends
Entering the card above for challenge over at:
  • Second card JOY was also stamped with Brown Sugar pigment ink. Gold chalk ink on cardstock, only 7Gypsies Mykonos is used in this card. I used my kids' thrift shop kids' paint brush to faux create 'snow' using silver and white chalk ink. Looks real? :D

Emblishing just 1/4 of the page...

I saw what was posted on Yourscrapbookstash on 2Sept, took out the 6x6 stack and cut out the flowers and leaves. Then added to one of the bare minimal pages. Well the 'thinking' process and cutting and sticking the cutouts took me one hour. It's not perfect but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Monday, September 5, 2011

Bare minimal as of 6Sept

This is part of the mini album that is in progress.. except I'm nowhere near what I want the outcome to be, and I miss my own deadline.

Another bunch of cards

These are 9 Teachers' Day card made last 2 nights after the kids knock out. These are made of Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends, 7Gypsies Mykonos, Basic Grey Sweet Threads paper. The color swatch that I got just stayed in the bag and was not referred at all! Looks like I have very serious tendency of wanting to use all papers at one go... I need more refrain & practice!
